Now that the 28 Day Challenge is officially over, and we’ve raised over $600 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, and Vince lost 19 lbs and is still awaiting the decision as to whether he won the Biggest Loser Challenge at his work, we’ve had some time to reflect on the crazy food journey we undertook and (somewhat hastily) ease those off limit food and drink items back into our lives.
It got me thinking about some of the hilarious and seriously unexpected and random things Vince said to me during the course of the Challenge. Perhaps it was his coping mechanism
Here are some of those things:
What can I have for dessert? Oh I know…apples!
I think I’m just going to drink tea from now on – even after the Challenge is over. No more coffee.
Club soda actually tastes really good!
Who knew you could do so much with quinoa…and make it taste good!
I love hummus, I can’t get enough of it. I even used my finger to lick the container clean when I ran out of carrots.
Sure I’ll try gluten-free bread! I’ll have some with my eggs
And to give you the flip side of the coin, here are things I’m not surprised Vince would say:
I miss chicken so much it’s giving me a headache just thinking about it.
I’ll have fries with that.
If someone put chicken wings in front of me right now, I’d devour all of it
And there you have it…the side of my husband I never thought I’d ever see (or hear). I guess you can say he was a totally different man during the month of March.
By the way, he ended up devouring those wings this past weekend that he was dreaming about…all 2 lbs of it.
Next post – why you can do a similar Challenge and the tips and tricks to get you there!
With love,
Chef’s Wife

I love it all! Also, the hummus was amazing. I won’t lie, I used my finger to wipe clean the bits stuck on the side of the bowl that my crackers and carrots couldn’t pick up. I think you’re right, between lulu pants and David’s Tea, we have created monsters. High five for team work!!!
High five!! I think we’re creating twinsies…it only makes sense since we’re twinsies
True.Say.
Hahaha I love the last 3! I think I have said most of those things myself, more than once actually!! Well done though!! To both of you!! Thats awesome that your man lost 19lb!!
And all for a good cause as well!
I also have to say kudos to Vince for being so open to try new things! That is half the battle with men and ‘healthy’ foods!
So true! And they don’t realize that it can actually be delicious! Oh, men…
I think that he was in shock when he realized that he lost that much weight….and in such a short period of time! But he feels proud of himself for being so disciplined. And we both really couldn’t have done it without encouragement and kudos from others…like you!
