Since I’ve started blogging, I keep getting more and more into the whole experience of being a WordPress blogger and getting to know the online community here. It’s been pretty fantastic – I’ve read some amazing blogs from interesting and talented writers the world over – but I have to say, blogging is slowly taking over my life! So lately, the only time that’s been the most convenient to blog is on my way to and from work…on the train, waiting on the subway platform, riding the streetcar…wherever it is that the TTC takes me. And it works! I get a lot accomplished during that time and its the creative outlet I need that buffs out all the noise and negative energy from people who can be so miserable when they commute. It also seriously passes the time during delays, which unfortunately is a regular occurrence with the TTC. But enough about that!

So I want to know WP bloggers (and non-WP bloggers) where do you press (a.k.a blog)? And when? Is it after the kids go to bed? Is it during your commute (like me)? Do you press at work? (I won’t tell!) or do you set aside some time at home, in your inspired workplace to delve into the blogging world?
And while we’re at it, why do you press (blog, that is)? I know I started as a newbie a couple of months ago to try and capture the food that my husband creates and what we eat together. Food is an important part of our lives. I also wanted to capture those moments that might get lost in our memory one day, like special dates we might have.
What I didn’t realize at the time that I started pressing, was how much I would love it. Not only writing, but reading all of your blogs. So this post is for you and I really do want to hear from you so don’t be shy!

{Reading all of your blogs!}
I realized it was a good idea to blog after I was told a couple of years back that I was a “funny ranter.” I think a lot of people have experiences in life that they either forget or only remember a fraction of the details. Blogging is a fantastic outlet to not only share life but look back on it and let the detailed memories take you to a (hopefully) better place.
I tend to blog whenever inspiration hits me and I have a few minutes. Typically I’ll have multiple blogs in a draft state. Sometimes I’ll sneak in some writing in the office, sometimes I’ll jot something down in the mobile app, but the majority of time it’s very late at night when everything is quiet and the writing hits like a wave.
I’ve really enjoyed your blog since I chanced upon it a couple weeks back. Looking forward to reading your Presses in the future.
I also try to blog when inspiration hits me – but since I love food and since a girl’s gotta eat, I find inspiration hits me on a daily basis! I guess it also helps that what meals Vince creates is driven by his own inspiration.
But you said something so true…blogging comes from being inspired to say something about it. I guess that’s why there are so many of them out there!
I’ve really loved that you chanced upon my blog…you always have such thoughtful things to say! And I’ve enjoyed reading yours, too
I’ve grown pretty addicted too, which I wasn’t expecting! I blog whenever I can find free time, which isn’t often enough. Just wish there were more hours in the day so I could post more often
I feel the same way! But even when I’m really exhausted and I know I need to just go to bed, I still find myself at my computer finalizing the draft that I had been working on from my mobile app. I guess I wasn’t expecting to love it so much either!
Hi Tammy,
I usually Press after hot yoga on my couch very quietly while Conor works. It works out perfectly that way because it keeps me occupied and I actually do need to be focused on it. Sometimes when I’m feeling inspired at work, I open up a “new email,” type something up really quickly and then send it to myself to post later on in the evening. What I like most about the WordPress app is that it makes it super easy to upload the photos from my phone, which I save as a draft post and then quickly add my “email” message. I didn’t realize bloggers have so many strategies on how to keep afloat. I feel guilty if I leave it for over a week. I too have found many inspirational blogs out there, particularly of new runners try to achieve different distance goals.
I’m glad you’ve started blogging too because I know you’ve been meaning to for a while and I think you’re developing a great voice and style. Keep it up Dot!
xoN.
Hello.This article was extremely motivating, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this topic last week.
Hi! Thanks for reading! I found it interesting to write about too, since I really had to think about “how” I blog. That, and I always find it interesting to hear how, when, and even where people blog since almost everyone’s lives are always so busy!
